| Customer Reviews: If you've never played it might teach you something. April 14, 2007 Dick Danger (BILLINGS, MT United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you know what AA23ds means this book isn't for you. If you've never played O/8b then it's worth picking up.
There may be few, but they're all better than this. June 28, 2003 Jeremy Crowhurst (North Vancouver, B.C.) 13 out of 20 found this review helpful
What a piece of junk.pThe majority of the book is in the order of, "Ah had this littl' hand down in a game in Texas an' the flop came with two little spades, so I pounded the sucker and then ah..." There are maybe 9 or 10 pages worth of content in the whole book. Most of it comes from McEvoy, and some of it is almost certainly wrong.pThe section on Pot Limit is of questionable value, since most pot-limit Omaha games spread now are high-low, not straight high.pBob Ciaffone's book is better, and Ray Zee's book is much better. Stick with them.
Essential Omaha October 15, 2002 7 out of 11 found this review helpful
For those interested in mastering Omaha Hold 'Em there are very few books avalable on the market. And of those that have been published, T. J. Cloutier's Championship Omaha is by far the best guide available. Like other books in the Championship series, this book presents an organized look at starting hands, preflop play, flop play, tournament strategy, and more. Ever since T.J.'s books were mentioned in a televised interview by an amateur who placed second in the WSOP as being very instrumental in getting him there, these books have become highly sought after and hard to find. And with the case of this Omaha book, it's justified as it's the best available.
